Total Knee

Our products

TKA teams worldwide have implemented MedEnvision products to improve their workflow and OR set up. Your team can reap the same benefits.

Gripper™ Device

Perform TKA with a single scrub at the table, freeing up space and avoid ergonomically strenuous retractor handling. The Gripper™ System features retraction devices and fixation points suited for all surgical tables. It integrates seamlessly with most flat-handled retractors available on the market.

Fixation Points

The Gripper™ System for TKA includes a set of reusable fixation points that support the Gripper™ device on the contralateral and ipsilateral side. The set is compatible with your regular surgical table and easy to install.

Accessories

The following accessories are specifically designed for Total Knee Arthroplasty in combination with the Gripper™ System.

Achieve shorter, predictable turnover times in the OR with the EsySuit™ Knee, which reduces draping time to under a minute. Designed for all tables, it ensures compatibility with the Gripper™ System and includes strategic reinforcements.

Benefits when using our products

Many TKA teams have implemented MedEnvision products to improve their workflow and OR set up on various aspects, among which

Open space

The space around the surgical table is relatively crowded when performing a total knee arthroplasty with a surgeon, a physician assistant, a scrub tech and possibly a robot.

Accurate retractor control

Proper retractor placement is crucial to avoid soft tissue trauma and maintain the integrity of the hip joint. The Gripper™ System empowers surgeons to control retractor positioning, force, and duration, allowing you and the scrub to concentrate fully on the surgical procedure.

Improper retractor placement and force can lead to:

  1. Soft Tissue Trauma: muscle tears, nerve damage, vascular injuries
  2. Bone Fractures : Compromised structural integrity of the hip joint
  3. Postoperative Complications: increased risk of recovery issues, delayed healing

Mitigating staff shortage & Improved team performance

Staff shortages in the operating room can lead to significant delays and workflow disruptions, especially with rising caseloads.
The Gripper™ System allows OR teams to perform TKA procedures without an assistant to hold all retractors, while the EsySuit™ range enables patient draping in under one minute.

Maximizing human capital is essential; when scrubs are occupied with menial tasks, their potential is underutilized. These tasks underwhelm their medical capabilities, and may lead to fatigue, reduced focus and decreased overall performance. The Gripper™ System and EsySuit™ range empower your OR team to enhance efficiency, job satisfaction, and patient outcomes.

Cope with case load & Reduced turnover times

The case volume per given time unit holds significant relevance in the orthopaedic OR, with direct impact on operational efficiency, resource allocation, and timely care for patients. Optimizing this metric is critical to manage increasing caseloads and creating sustainable working environments.

The EsySuit™ range allows for safe draping in under a minute, while the Gripper™ System frees up hands to enhance the workflow and enable parallel processing.

Better teaching

Surgeons in training are often asked to hold retractors. This is a slow way to learn surgical techniques and gain valuable experience.

The Gripper™ System allows surgeons to teach much more effectively, with the trainee actively participating in the surgical procedure.

In practice

Dr. Robert Jamieson MD has set up a workflow that allows him to perform TKA procedures in his ASC with only one and even no PA at the table. The Gripper™ System has enabled him to rethink his workflow, such as steering the precious time of the PA to medical work that is more valuable than holding retractors.
