Posterior/Lateral Hip

Posterior/ Lateral Hip

Our products

Posterior/Lateral hip teams worldwide have implemented MedEnvision products to improve their workflow and OR set up. Your team can reap the same benefits.

Gripper™ Device

Perform Posterior/Lateral with more open space at the table, and less ergonomically strenuous retractor handling. The Gripper™ System includes retraction devices and fixation points suited for all regular surgical tables. It integrates seamlessly with most flat-handled retractors available on the market.

Fixation Points

The Gripper™ System for Post/Lat THA includes a set of reusable fixation points that support the Gripper™ device on the contralateral and ipsilateral side.

The set is compatible with your regular surgical table and easy to install.

EsySuit™ Lateral

Achieve shorter, predictable turnover times in the OR with the EsySuit™ Lateral, which reduces draping time to under 1 minute. Its telescopic folding allows for easy setup, stable draping, and effective disinfection.

The EsySuit™ for Posterior/Lateral THA has been specifically designed to be used in combination with the Gripper™ System.

Benefits when using our products

Accurate retractor control

Proper retractor placement is crucial to avoid soft tissue trauma and maintain the integrity of the hip joint. The Gripper™ System empowers surgeons to control the acetabular retractor positioning, force, and duration themselves.

Improved team performance

The Gripper™ System and EsySuit™ range provide the practical tools to make your OR team operate at its full potential, improving accuracy and – ultimately – patient outcomes.

Enhanced role for assistants

With the leg externally rotated for femur preparation, the scrubs' ability to hold the leg in an adequate position for broaching visualization of the femur, while also holding 1 or 2 retractors, can be quite challenging. The Gripper™ System does not only improve the assistant's situation in ergonomic terms, but also frees up one hand to perform more active surgical tasks, such as suction, instead of holding a retractor. It is a flexible solution that is perfectly compatible with more rigid systems such as Charnley frames.

Better teaching

Surgeons in training are often asked to hold retractors. This is a slow way to learn surgical techniques and gain valuable experience.

The Gripper™ System allows surgeons to teach more effectively, with the trainee not holding retractors and participating actively in the surgery under the guidance of the surgeon.

In practice

Prof. dr. Nicolas Reina (FR) performs up to 6 cases per OR day, with 2 scrubs at the table. He has developed a smooth, reproducible and predictable workflow for minimally invasive lateral Hip, that includes the Gripper™ System.
